TAGÒ TOURNAMENT

The TAGÒ Game Tournament is played as a “cash game,” i.e. with chips which have monetary values, and the rules of the game remain unchanged. The objective is for each player to earn the greatest number of points within a predetermined period of time, in order to win the prizes. As is seen when playing TAGÒ, each hand is characterised by a particular numeric value called the POINT, and it is with reference to this, and according to how the player wins or loses, that the player will be awarded or penalised with a certain number of points.

Point Tallying takes place as follows:

A) Players who win the hand because of the hand being abandoned by their peers will obtain half the numeric value of the POINT score, rounded up or down in advance as necessary (always rounded up for odd numbers) so as to make it exactly divisible by 2.

Players who abandon the hand will never be subject to any variation in scoring.

Example: the POINT is made up of 4;1; 1⁄2 = 5 1⁄2which will equal 6 (rounding up) The winner will be credited with a value of 3

Example: the POINT is made up of 5; 3; 1⁄2 = 8 1⁄2 which will equal 8 (rounding down) The winner will be assigned a value of 4

Example: the POINT is made up of 4; 1; 2 = 7 which will equal 8 (rounding up for odd numbers)

B) Players who win the hand after a showdown will be credited with the complete value of the POINT, rounded as described above. Players who lose the hand after a showdown will see their current score subtracted by half of the numeric value of the POINT assigned to the winner.

Example: the POINT is made up of 4; 1; 1⁄2 = 5 1⁄2 The winner will be credited with a value of 6 The loser will be debited a value of 3

Example: the POINT is made up of 7; 1; 1⁄2 = 8 1⁄2 The winner will be credited with a value of 8 The loser will be debited a value of 4

Example: the POINT is made up of 4; 2; 1 = 7 The winner will be credited with a value of 8 The loser will be debited a value of 4

Several Winners

In the case of a showdown and there are several winners, one of the two following situations may arise:

1) The pot will be divided: T

he winning players will be credited with half of the numeric value of the POINT, this being rounded if necessary, and the losers’ scores will be subtracted by the same amount.

2) The players opt for a playoff:

In this case, it is first of all necessary to subtract half of the numeric value of the POINT from the losing players, and then to proceed to one or more additional hands, in which case, if there is a showdown, winners and losers will be credited and debited respectively with the numeric value of the total POINT, this being rounded. In case of a win because of the hand being abandoned by the other players, the same procedure as above applies. In these types of hands constituted by multiple kitties, every player is obligated to split with the other winners.

Extra Points Awarded to the Winning Player Based on their Score:
